New Year's Eve Fishing at Tanjong Rhu.

Well, as planned, i managed to gather some of my kakis for the fishing today. It was in fact quite last minute because i only msg them via their handphone and let them know of the trip at about 4pm for the 8pm trip! Haha! Sorry guys if you are reading this...

Anyway, managed to get only Thief as a confirmed candidate for the session and we decided to go ahead anyway. The rest of the gang were still not sure whether they wanna come along because they thought they might have better things to attend to. haha. This was planned to be a fishing cum fireworks watching trip and i decided to bring along my crabbing nets along so that i can catch more crabs for mine dearest!!

Reached the place at around 8pm and started to get all the stuffs ready. the tide was good and rising as forecasted and the weather was fine except for some very minute drizzle. So we cast off and waited to hear the bells ringing. In the meantime, my cousin - Quan- decided to join us with his GF tagging along. Then, Kelvin also decided o come along and join in the session. We had much fun and were talking about everything.

However, there were still no bites. hmmm, was starting to wonder if it was just another one of those those days when Thief's bells rang!! We looked and saw that his rod was making a very awkward bend and we stood up and ran to his rod. Thief managed to reached it just before the fish took his whole rod for a NEW YEAR's present. He tightened the line and WHACK the fish. Fight on!! All eyes were on him as he reel and pumped his rod. Even passer-bys - there were a lot that day cos all came to watch fireworks - stopped to see what thief is gonna get. However, after a while, Thief gave me that look......and i knew immediately that the fish was lost. Well, what to do? hook up some new prawns and cast again la!! HAHA!!

It was a pity cos the way the fish made his rod bend, and almost took it into the waters, i reckon it must be a Barramundi. Cos this type of fish will whack the bait and release their turbo nitrogen and speed away. Not to mention that it must be at least 3 kgs and above judging from the way it took line out. Sigh! What a loss! Consolation is that it started to get us excited . haha

Well, it seems that the lost fish went on and spread the alarm against taking prawns as dinner. Subsequently, we had no other interesting actions and we spent the rest of the remaining time talking and idling away. Of course there were the fireworks which were quite spectacular...

So spectecular that i forgotten that i brought my camera along and did not take any photos!! haha... anyway, managed only to catch 3 crabs for mine dearest! well, till the next trip then!! Stay tuned!
