Fishing on eve of New Year's Eve 30th December 06

Well, not one to be deterred especially when it comes to Fishing, i decided to go and try out the place one more time and i did! This time, i made sure i had all my barang barang in place before i set out! Haha! And i got my Favourite bait : LIVE PRAWNS!!

Well, Dun ask me why but i just think that live prawn is universal when it comes to fishing. And it is relatively cleaner when it comes to hooking and storing. Look at the lively prawns in my bait holder!!


I had high hopes for the day but then again, when did i not have high hopes at the beginning of any trip?? Haha!! Well the weather was windy and made casting quite a chore. Current was strong and i was forced to use a heavier than usual weight so that my line will stay in place.

My hopes of getting a fish gradually dies off by the passing minutes. There were numerous false alarms as those side-crawling friend of fishes(Crabs) found my live prawns so tempting that they dun mind a sparring session! i was getting bored when i decided to take a few pictures of my rod against the railings. Here is one of them :

Well, as I was not getting serious actions so i thought i had better call it a day since the sky was beginning to look threatening. So I proceeded to reel in my line.... As i was doing so, i felt that my line was not its usual weight! i begining to test it with various jerks and pulls and it still remained as heavy as before. What was it??? was it a plastic bag??

Well, after reeling it in for quite a while, i was beginning to think that i might have entangled some deep plastic bags when i felt some tiny jerks on the line....hmmm not a plastic bag so what was it ?? i was soon to find out....






It was a Flower Crab!!! Yess.. on hook and line!!






Well, i consider that a consolation and at least it beats ending up with nothing!! This friend of ours ended up being my wife's supper who just love to eat them!! haha! and guessed what?? My wife told me to get more of them the next time i go!

They are delicious i heard!! (i have never eaten what i caught for some weird reasons). So i thought why not come back tomorrow!! Since it was new year's eve the next day, i thought of gathering my kakis to fish here again while this time round bringing my Crabbing nets along so that my darling can get more of our flower crabbies!
